Brewerton NY (Days 75-76)
We crossed Oswego Lake from Sylvan Beach to Brewerton. Laying up there for the Fourth of July.
This lake is so big there are islands in the middle, although we could always see the shoreline all the way across.
We stayed at the family owned Ess-Kay Yards. It was so green and friendly.
They provided a loaner car for up to 2 hours and they even provided a hammock rest in.
Thanks to the loaner car we were able to go to church. We went to Grace Evangelical Covenant Church. It was a special time of worship and communion. We felt quite welcome here,
We were able to take our tender all over as our shuttle craft. Some times I drive, some times I am driven😁
This is the sunset from one excursion. We also went to a restaurant for dinner on this trip.
This was our trip out to three mile bay, the local party hangout spot. The water was very clear. The bottom was sandy. But…we saw two snakes…BIG ones, while we were there.
The Marina put on a party for the Fourth of July fireworks…on the third. They provided hamburgers, hotdogs and flatware. Everyone brought a dish. The locals and the loopers (there were 5 boats representing AGLCA) mixed very well. We had super views of the fireworks right form our slip.
So we met new Looper friends who actually know some of our New Bern friends. My good friend Christine, who was the librarian at Camelot, the last school I taught in came by for an after noon visit. It was wonderful to reconnect. Her mother lives close by. Note the beautiful view behind Christine and I. I could have stayed here a while longer.
Mike went paddle boarding which was perfect since it was too rough for me with all the Fourth of July traffic. All in all it was a great place to wait out the traffic over the weekend.
Our Journey
Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.”
