Pickwick Lake (Days 134-143)

We had a great time on Pickwick Lake with our friends Scott and Pam.  We tied up right behind them and their beautiful boat, Mi Escape, for 10 days.
Safe Harbor Aqua is a great marina.

The view of Pickwick Lake from their marina is great.  The shot on the left is of the full moon reflecting on the clouds in the water at night.

One of our first activities was to explore by dinghy.
Each couple loaded up their own dinghy’s so we were able to go faster than if we had all piled into one dinghy.
We found a cove with a waterfall.
Mike and I hiked up and the views were breathtaking.
The best view was from the falls down to the beach where Scott and Pam were guarding the dinghy’s and where we had our picnic.
Scott and Pam taught us how to play Pickle Ball, which we played almost every day.  We had a blast and we even ordered our own rackets.

Another favorite activity is playing cards after dinner.  Pam and I took turns preparing our favorite boat recipes.
We were having such nice weather that we decided to take the big boats out to raft up and anchor out overnight in a cove called Panther Creek.
The colors were beautiful and I think these two vessels look pretty good together.
Mike and Scott fooled around with Mikes new drone camera
While Pam and I went paddle boarding .
Here is Mike’s first drone video.
We had a beautiful evening.
Another treat for us while in Scott and Pam’s marina was going to church…in a bar.  The pastor had an idea that some people are so disillusioned with the idea of church but they might find it easier to go to a bar.  They have a good sized congregation and we had a great time of praise and worship.
Our Friends Gina and Mike were kind enough to pick up some items we had left behind and Looper Express them to us.  Mike and Lori on Pickette’s Pub from our Flotilla four also came into the marina for a night.  It’s always great to see friends along the way.

The weather went from balmy 80 degrees when we got here to the chilly 50s.  Sunrise had an eerie fog wafting across the water. Overnight temperatures were even in the mid 20s for a few days.

“He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes. He casts forth His ice as fragments; Who can stand before His cold? He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.”
